Fire Code Updates for Multi-Family Buildings with special guest speaker Phil Jordan of the Fitchburg Fire Department This coming Thursday is our first NWCLA Membership Meeting of the new year that you absolutely do not want to miss! With the new year, brings new fire code and safety regulations which will affect all of our rental properties and multi-unit dwellings.
Some of the topics we know about are the new 10-Year battery sealed smoke detectors. Another topic is fall safety/fire code window release gates. Come down for a night of information and education to keep you out of the hot seat.
For more information about becoming a NWCLA
member and attending this event, visit us online at www.NWCLA.com/join.htm
Please, do not park along the hill where the buses
park, or in the handicap spots without the proper license plate or stickers.
We are proud to announce the launch of our NEW NWCLA Members' Web Site. This site has been years in the planning and testing stages to bring you a unique tool to use as an NWCLA Member.
With the help of Massachusetts Landlord/Tenant Law Attorney, Inessa Shur of the Shur Law Group we have provided our members with something they have been asking for, for years; Massachusetts Tenant-At-Will and Massachusetts Lease Rental Agreements. These forms are especially written and designed to adhere to and be in compliance with Massachusetts Housing Laws.
The Northern Worcester County Landlord Association has joined forces with the National Real Estate Investors Association. What does this mean? It means that all NWCLA members are now NREIA members. The NREIA operates on a coast-to-coast arena and has the buying power to get HUGE group discounts on the products and services we all use every day in the business of being landlords. There are free newsletters, member-to-member support, a host of other organizations you can visit for free as a guest NREIA members, legislative updates on a national level, and much. much more.
To gain access to the NREIA members section you first need to register as a member. To do this, send an email to Brian Lucier to request that your account with the NREIA be activated. To take advantage of your NREIA membership please send your email request to Brian Lucier and make sure to include:
Subject Line: NWCLA / NREIA Membership Request
Please allow at least 24 hours for an email back from Brian with your account log-in information. He usually checks his email first thing in the morning, and late at night.

Dear Fellow Landlords and Property Managers
The NWCLA was formed to provide a structured forum for landlords and property managers to get informed on the changing areas of rental real estate and the laws that govern the business we are in.
We want to provide guidance for those new to the business as well as use our strength as an organization to prevent negative legislation and promote positive changes in Massachusetts,
We own property in one of the toughest states to be a landlord in, the scale is not tipped in our favor, and we must work together to run our businesses in the strictest manner, and encourage changes that would give equality back to the legal housing system.
We are all in the business of providing housing; together we can work to better our community and our real estate. We urge you to consider joining our organization. The benefits are many to belong to an upstanding group that works on issues that effect you and your livelihood.
See you all on the second Thursday of the month at Monty Tech!
